Getting Started
Is BillTrack completely free?
Yes. BillTrack is 100% free — no subscription, no premium tier, and no hidden fees. Upload a receipt and start splitting.
Do I need to create an account?
No account required. Open BillTrack, upload your receipt, and get results immediately.
Do I need to download an app?
No download required. BillTrack is a web app that works in any modern browser on any device.
How long does it take to split a bill?
Most bills are split in under 60 seconds. Receipt scanning takes under 10 seconds, and assigning items takes another 20–40 seconds.
Receipt Scanning
What types of receipts does BillTrack support?
BillTrack works with restaurant bills, bar tabs, grocery receipts, hotel invoices, takeout receipts, and any document with line items and prices.
What file formats can I upload?
You can upload JPEG, PNG, and PDF files. You can also take a photo directly from your device's camera.
How accurate is the scanning?
Accuracy exceeds 99% on clear, well-lit receipts. Any errors can be manually corrected before finalizing.
What if the receipt is blurry?
The system will do its best with lower-quality images, but accuracy improves with clearer photos. All extracted items are editable.
Does BillTrack work with receipts in other languages?
Yes. The OCR engine supports dozens of languages and the system understands receipt structures across different languages and regional formats.
Splitting
How many people can split a bill?
There is no limit. BillTrack works for groups of any size — from 2 people splitting a coffee to 20 at a large dinner.
Can items be shared between multiple people?
Yes. Any item can be shared among any subset of the group and will be split proportionally among those people.
How is tax split?
Tax is distributed proportionally based on each person's share of the pretax total — so someone who ordered more pays more of the tax.
How is tip split?
Tip is handled the same way as tax — distributed proportionally. If a tip line is detected on the receipt, it's included automatically.
Can I split everything evenly?
Yes. You can choose to split the total evenly among all participants with one tap.
Privacy & Security
Is my receipt data stored?
No. Receipt images are processed in real time and deleted immediately after. We do not retain your receipt contents.
Is my data shared with third parties?
No. We do not sell, share, or transmit your receipt data to any third parties.
Is the connection secure?
Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Your receipt photo is never sent over an unencrypted connection.

Does BillTrack work on mobile?
Yes — BillTrack is designed mobile-first. It works on any smartphone browser and includes camera access for directly photographing receipts.
What currencies does BillTrack support?
BillTrack works with any currency. The system reads the currency symbol from the receipt and processes amounts accordingly.
